Flaunt That Flora
A few years ago I became a little obsessed with getting way up-close and personal with plants. I don't have a macro lens, but in the pictures I take I'm not interested in the macro-ness of the plants. Instead, I'm drawn to the textures, the colors, the patterns, the shapes, the depth, the light...
Close, but not that close.

Most of these have to be taken during the height of the day so the light is direct and even. But I do love it when leaves and branches are able to cast shadows that create unique patterns that wouldn't have existed otherwise.
Yet, since I don't really get along with the sun, it's not like I'm always getting outside just to commune with the plants. I've gotta already be outside for a specific reason other than sticking my nose in a planter.
There's some bush entendre that I intentionally avoided.

And palms! Don't even get me started on how different palms fronds can be. Lush and green and straight to yellow and burnt to a crisp and wilted. So many different colors and color combinations and shapes and patterns and lines created from one type of plant.

I don't necessarily stop and smell the roses. But I sure to take pictures of them!

The dew and rain and water on the plants? My goodness!

Ugh! The DRAMA, mama!
I don't know...

And I hope you think they're neat, too!
