Disneyland, Part II
"Words aren't enough, which is where art comes in..." - Chuck Tingle
After culling a few photos for this post, I realized that I had been following a theme: pictures taken at night. Surprisingly, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure can be rather dark in many spots, which is not conducive to shooting from the hip or quick snapshots. You gotta slow down a little bit. Take your time with the settings. Boost the ISO. Apologize as people look at you weird for thinking you’re taking a picture of them. That doesn’t mean I don’t try to snap a pic as quickly as possible! But it also means that many shots get deleted.
Speaking of deletion: I’m not a save-’em-all kind of guy. I don’t save raw files after post-processing. I don’t save pictures that won’t get edited (for the most part). I just… don’t feel the need. A lot of photographers don’t feel that way and that’s fine. This method has always worked for me. I don’t miss the deleted shots. I rationalize it as maybe they shouldn’t have been taken in the first place.
But pics below?
They all needed to have been taken and couldn’t even exist while the sun was still shining!
